What we'll do:
Today you will read The Mitten, by Jan Brett with your buddy. Next you'll explore a few internet websites.
Let's explore:
1. Read The Mitten, by Jan Brett. Copies of the book are on the computer table.
2. There were many animals awake in the winter during the story. Go here to see them all!
3. Do some of these animals really hibernate in the winter? Look here to see what animals hibernate in the winter.
4. Look at magnified snow crystals. Aren't they amazing? Which is your favorite?
5. Now try your hand at making snowflakes on the web! Go to this website to make snowflakes.
6. Now cut a snowflake out of white paper! Come and see Mrs. Hood or Mrs. Michael for a folded paper. HINT: only cut around the edges. Do not cut it in half!
7. Bring your finished snowflake to Mrs. Hood - we'll make a display out of them!
